Hi andrea!

I'm really sorry to tell you this but when my eczema appeared in 2009 after about 14 years of perfect skin, I developed a sudden allergy to my dogs! I wasnt allergic to them before that, we have six of them and the oldest is nearly 10! To solve the problem, I moved out lol my parents would never get rid of the dogs and I wouldnt want them to (they are my brothers lol). I found when I played with them or kissed them Id get hives and sneeze and be wheezy and itchy.

Since I have been taking echinacea and piriton the allergy has vanished again and I can kiss my dogs and play with them! Get the pharbio brand of echinacea if you want to do this because there are other kinds that do not work. You have to take a lot of them for about 2 weeks before you notice the difference but in the meantime piriton will work and personally i think its best for skin allergies.

I hope its not your cats, but if it is hopefully this advice will mean you dont have to rehome them or anything like that.

I have had eczema on my eyes for the past two years. I have tried everything, natural and medical and nothing seems to work. I am going for allergy testing and I am worried it might be to my cats. Nothing online says it could be about pets but have any of you found this to be a cause???

I have a very itchy and red rash around my eyes and inside the eye. Any advice on what I can use to treat this? I am not interested in steroid creams around my eyes.

please, anything to do with itching around the eyes, bear in mind that some people like myself are allergic to preservatives contained in eye drops and other medication, ask the doctor to prescribe ones without them, it seems to help me alot with artificial eyedrops, good luck...

I have suffered from eczema around my eyes for the last three months. The problem started with itching in the inner corners of my eyes back in June. Eventually, the eczema got infected with MRSA. After being on antibiotics for the last two months, and after several other failed attempts by doctors prescribing Desonide cream, eye drops, eye lotions, etc. all of which have failed to cure the problem, I now have hope. I went to an infectious disease doctor who said I may be having severe seasonal allergies-mold was particularly high this year- and she prescribed me Veramyst nasal spray (cortisone) and Xyzal (antihistimine) to use daily. Within three days, I have begun to feel incredibly better. She said the MRSA was just the tip of the ice berg and whatever was causing my eczema flair up had to be dealt with first. I hope this helps someone out there.

I have eczema for 8 yrs and been to many dermatologists. The dermatologist would only give me steroid creams and phototheraphy. It didn't help at all. At night, I would wake up in the middle of the night and scratch my skin until it bleeds. I have eczema on my arms, hands, body, and legs. I got really frustrated and became self-conscience. I started to read and research on-line about eczema and cure for eczema. I found this website (merryclinic.com) where Doctor used herbal medicine to treat eczema. I was very skeptical at first, but after reading many testimonies and yahoo reviews about the website. I finally decided to give it a try. I have nothing to lose. Right! After the second week of drinking the EcDermaid capsules and skin detox capsules, I saw significant improvement. I also drink carrot juice (rich in vitamin A) and began to exercise 1hr a day (it help reduce stress). I started to eat more healthy food (vegetables especially cucumber) and cut out spicy/greasy food. Now, my body is not that itchy anymore and I see my eczema is beginning to heal. I know the ExDermaid (1 bottle cost $35 for 10 days) and Skin Detox capsules (1 bottle cost $40 for 1 month) are expensive, but it is worth every penny of it. I know how it feel to suffer from eczema. I usually don't like to write blogs or on the internet, but this is miracle pills. I can't keep this to myself. I have to spread the words around. If you are suffering eczema and want to find cure. You should try this (ExDermaid and Skin Detox pills). It is all natural, so no side effects. It treats eczema from inside out.

Forgot to mention that I did not change anything about my diet. Never ate much bread but rarely eat any bread in the last two years. Always ate whole wheat. Maybe something in the wheat.

I stopped washing my face everyday and now in the winter as well as spring I have not had a bout with ezcema at all. I wash once or twice a week with hypo allerginic soap (Pears) to be exact and immediately put a moisturizer on afterwards. I have been using Jergen's tanning lotion which gives a mild tanning base. Have not ezcema in about two years. Use to have it two to three times in the winter and once or twice in spring or summer.
When outside gardening do not touch your face or scratch you neck, etc. because you can be allergic to the soil, leaves or grass which can start the ezcema. Try to wear gloves and wash hands immediately afterward.

I have had this for about 18 yrs. I am 25 years old. I have been to hospitals, taken lots of steroids, been through lots of stages of it. Earlier on my life, I used to be bedridden a couple of times because of the eczema and sometimes it would start weeping and become septic. It's on the dry side now but it comes on coming in at a particular period and it would be really serious. It itches a whole lot. I lose my sleep sometimes because of it. I am using Lamacil now, I don't know if that will work. I used to use Vecuten and it stopped working. I use Palmer's Cocoa butter and I'm wondering if Aveeno will be better? I'm really desperate. This makes me depressed sometimes and my husband feels bad about it too.

I agree with you... my position is from my experiences... I was misdiagnosed for years... I was and my family was convinced that I had eczema etc.... from the doctors... my advice to everyone is to research.. do not take everything as fact... so much of what is happening to your skin can be the result of what you are eating... or absorbing from your environment.... just do not accept that is what it is.. and that you have to find a creme or lotion to cure it....
The internet is a valuable tool to find information and discover what could be going on with you... keep a journal.. record what you were doing,, where you were,,, what you ate... figure out the puzzle...what was going on those 48 hours... when I had an attack... or was extremely itchy.... was it stress from my work.. my mother... or was it the food that I ate..
Just don't take things as gospel.... take control.. find your own answers to this.... knowledge is power... it is a start that you have found this site to talk to find out answers...and to think about the possibilities... just do not take a doctor's quick diagnosis... or prescription as the answer.

If it is not wheat... maybe it is corn...there is corn syrup in everything... maybe it is both...
if there is a trigger to your episodes... find it out.... invest the time to help yourself.

There is no typical celiac. Individuals range from having no symptoms (asymptomatic or "latent" forms of the disease) to extreme cases where patients present to their physicians with gas, bloating, diarrhea, and weight loss due to malabsorption.

this sentances could mean every1 is at risk

Also.... I did have the skin problems since I was about 10 years old... I had an ankle that would never heal... then it moved to the other ankle.... I would want to scratch to the bone if I could, just to stop the itch.... then later it moved to my elbows... treating it will all kinds of creams... and steriods... as soon as I went on the diet.... it was a miracle... now I just have scars... but no itch.. and I sleep thru the night....and no more creams.... Yeah!

Yes.........please read my earlier post....

It could be what you are eating.....I was misdiagnosed for 40 years...

Now I am free of it....

I have had allergies/asthma, chronic sinus infections, digestive disorders and of course eczema. I had a severe flare up of the eczema or shall I say what I thought was eczema on my back, trunk, arms and legs. It would go away, get worse, and come back.. You name it. Finally after a year of torture I went to my son's dermatologist and he thought that it maybe Celiac.
I went on the diet, and in 3 days the itch went away, within 10 days my skin started to heal.
Please read from these two sites for more information: glutenfreemd.com and celiac.com.
I was also diagnosed with Selective Iga Deficiency, if you have this, when you are tested for Celiac, you will have a false negative to the test. If your blood Iga levels are below 80, you are deficient. They use your Iga in your blood to test for Celiac; if you have no Iga... then you have No Celiac.
Please read from this site: immunedisease.com/US/patients/IDF/select_iga.html. If you have chronic asthma or many common colds, this could be your problem. If so, you will need to see an immunologist. The Iga in your blood needs to contain antibodies to fight off colds, if you have a low number, your antibodies will be low too. Your asthma, maybe a chronic lung infection.
It takes an average of 7-9 years to diagnose Celiac. This should be part of any basic blood work. If you have a dairy problem can not tolerate it... it could be Celiac.
If you have Celiac, which could be triggered by some stress in your life or you are born with it, these are the basic steps of the disease:
You have it and do not know it... you then have intolerance for dairy: bloating..Diarrhea..You think that you are lactose intolerant. Then you have a severe eczema attack. The Celiac is the root cause: The villus in your intestines is killed by the Celiac/Wheat allergy, which then will not let the body to process dairy.. You now can not absorb nutrients from the foods that you eat... and your skin reacts to the malnutrition.
As soon as you remove the wheat flour from your diet your villi will start to grow back and your symptoms will diminish. Please research these sites. This could be your answer for a new life without eczema.

Good Luck....
Jeannine
