:S thats awesome, i totally know what you mean! i used to work in retail and it was awful having to deal with customers while i felt horrible, my eyes swollen, puckered and red and my face generally just a dry, red mess. And so tired from lying awake all night itching! I always used to get in heaps of trouble at work for going into the staffroom to put on moisturiser, and frequently i was too sick to go to work and i was never believed.. it is the WORST thing ever, i've had people ask me whats wrong with my face, its so upsetting, im 23 and supposedly "in my prime" but i look like a monster. i've been battling eczema my whole life but it has gotten out of control in the past 5 years, i've now left the city I grew up in to hide away where no one knows me because i get so depressed about it.. i don't know what to do next, i've addressed my environmental allergies as much as possible, have been put on an extremely strict diet for the past year, i can't cut anything more out, it's like my body has gone insane and is reacting to everything.. i keep thinking (and hoping..) there must be some reason this is happening, perhaps there is some condition (that has a cure!!) i've heard of something called candida. i'm going to get a blood test but if that's not it does anyone know of any other conditions it could be?

I just thought id let everyone know for a laugh that I have come to the conclusion everyone at work is jealous of my eczema.

I have been given warnings and been told off again for being absent with eczema. I think they imagine me swaning around having a fabulous time while im actually lying in bed trying not to scratch, praying to god for strength, slathering on creams, sticking to the sheets etc.

I have been crying and said I am desperate not to lose my job, but I have been told that if I am treated any differently from anyone else at work, they would think it was unfair! They'd think it was unfair because I had a day off because I was living with a condition that made me want to die??? hahaha they can have my eczema and all the days off in the world as far as im concerned. Id rather work every day of the year and not have eczema.

Idiots.

Well thats my rant :S

I am convinced that raw organic food is the only way, whilst cutting out all processed possible irritants....sugar, alchahol, wheat, dairy etc. I have this problem too but it clears when I am strictly detoxing. i am going to detox all organs one by one and heal on every level...we have a choice and this is the way!

The stress of the pregnantcy triggered your system. I know that I am the preacher of IT Could be Celiac.... please google: Celiac and pregnancy....

I was miss diagnosed for 45 years... I was told that I had eczema, when really I had celiac... I believe that eczema is just a general label that the doctors give... You could have a problem with gluten... please research this, it could be your answer, before I was finally diagnosed correctly, I had it all over my back, arms, behind my knees, and the itch was enough to make you go insane. I went on a gluten free diet and within 3 days the itch was gone, granted it took weeks to heal my skin... and everything else, inside out... please consider this... lotions can not heal you.. it is from the inside out... something is causing this...

MY sister has been experiencing eczema (all over her body) for like 12 years, (she is 12 now). Wearing 100% cotton clothes, it does not earritate the skin. When she had it really really bad like 3 years ago she could wear sock or gloves because they would get stuck on her skin and hurt to take off, so when it was cold outside and she just had to wear gloves or sock she had to soak her hands and feet in warm water before taking the gloves or socks off. Another thing that worked really well is a product that you can buy over the counter called Bag Balm. It is a miricle worker lol. Crisco (even though it sounds funny lol) works too. Soaking eczema patches in vinegar water (apple cider vinegar) helps to. Add like 2 capfuls of vinegar to a gallon of warm or hot water. Rubbing pathes with a soft bathing brush helps to calm itching. Wearing clothing other than cotton may produce more breakage so I would prefer to try to only wear 100% cotton clothing. Please if you have any questions contact me

I tried the salve Dbeth first recommended and my skin healed in a few days. It was like a miracle, I've had facial eczema for over 10 years and nothing has ever worked before. The salve is called soothing calendula salve and I got it from healinganthropology.com I am now also on their whole face line and my skin looks healthier than I have ever seen it!

Like the rest of you I also have the swollen, red, icy, flaky, burning, wrinkly excema on my eylids and under my eyes. I have gone to the doctor 4 times for this and it has been misdiagnosed all 4 times. At first they thought it was an eye infection so I took antibiotics, that didn't work. Next it was allergies. They had me try 2 differnt allergy medications...no luck, then they put me on Athsma medication!! i have spent over $200 on stupid medications that make it worse. BE WARNED: don;'t even ask the regualr doctor to diganose the excema problem, go stright to a dermatologist, do not pass go do not collect $100. The problem is I am on a 6 week waitlist for the dermatologist, and I am suppose to be in a commercial in a week and a half...Someone PLEASE help me. They think that it is spring molds and pollens, but who knows...anyone shed some light? Also after it goes away do the wrinkes go away? I am scared that I am permenantly damagin my skin.
