Protopic is anything but mild! It is a topical immunosuppresant and FDA has issued a warning that its use may be linked to skin cancer (though there is no clear evidence either way). It works great - but following the warning I just stopped using it! Not worth trying to solve one problem by creating a bigger one.

To Id,
Some people can get eczema inside their eyelids too, and one of the ways the dermotologists treat it is with a cream called Protopic, as its mild enough to use on the eye itself.
I recommend you go to your doctor and ask for a perscription as it will be your best bet at easing the eczema around (and possibly in) your eyes.

You guys please change your diet, please discipline, detox eat fruit lots of greens, i had the worst eczema ever it was not until i visited a Infectious Disease Dermatologist who told me the truth, he said deal with it or change the entire way you eat after about three weeks of all fruit, veggies, turkey, and chicken it cleared up. Its been two years no sign of eczema, I miss regular food and sometimes I get hungry as hell but it is not worth the agony of eczema.

It could be the all evasive yeast spores. If I allow the eczema on my body to take hold, I often find that my eyes are so ichy and sore tha I cannot see properly-usually using a eye bath to give a good flushing out with water will do the trick.

Hi ld, your eyeballs may be itchy for a few different reasons, namely an infection or even inflammation, due to allergies. Either way get your optician to check them out as treatment is available.

Came to this site because I just plain do not know what to do anymore - everyone sounds like they are sailing in the same sinking ship. I am slathered in vaseline as I type... I always had it on my hands since I was a teen - waaay too long ago - but the past year or two I have had several persistent, disfiguring bouts around my eyes! My question is - does anyone feel like the inside of their lids are itchy too? I even feel like my eyeballs are itchy. I have been using an Aveeno ant-itch cream in combination with vaseline - but that seems to have stopped working too. Any suggestions?
