Hello. My eyes are occasionally affected by Eczema and causes my eyelid to swell. I've had it bad enough to actually go the the doctor and have a procedure done where they cut the inside of my eyelid to drain it. I feel another episode coming on and i'm getting married in two months. That means wedding pictures!!!! I'm freaking out here!!!! Any ideas how to treat or prevent this besides warm compresses???

Hi,
I honestly sympathize because I have exactly the same thing, get it all the time and it's soooo depressing! People have mistaken mine for a black eye too!
I saw a specialist a few months ago, and all she could recommend was a steroid cream (Eumovate) to be put on, very carefully and very sparingly when an attack broke out. The problem is, that sometimes the cream actually makes the eczema worse! It shatters my self esteem and renders me a prosoner in my own home until it's cleared up.
I can but tell you that you are not alone, and if you ever need a chat, drop me a line.
Best wishes

Rex

Hi there everyone. I am here to have a rant!!! I have just sufered from a bout of tonsilitis and as always when that happens when E goes crazy... Then yesterday I woke up with what looks like a breakout of Eczema with a great boil in it under my eye area. I am so depressed as the whole eyelid and surrounding area is swollen and red. I am going to see my derm in two hours. Luckly I got an emergency appointment. Everyone where I work think i have a black eye or think I have been out on the drink ( if only )
