There is a pharmasist in Australia who has developed his own eczema products.
If you google David Hoskings excema that should get you there.
You can send an Email to him for advice. I did and I received a reply the next day.
Importantly he gave me advice on how to wean off cortisone cream slowly to avoid a flare up.
He has helped many, many people.
In my own case i suspect my eczema may have been caused, at least in part, by artificial sweeteners.
Will be interested to hear how you get on if you decide to use David Hosking's products.

Everyone you can try applying emily skin soother. You can google it to find where you can order. It's a safe alternative versus using steroids on your children.

I posted this on a couple other eye eczema boards but want to post it here as well . . . eye eczema was difficult for me and then i finally solved my problem so i want to share my experience:

I struggled with eczema underneath my eye and on my eyelid. I hesitantly used 1% hydrocortizone ointment which totally cleared things up but would return within a week once i stopped applying the ointment. I was unprepared to keep applying it because it supposedly can damage/then the skin and skin around the eye is very thin and sensitive.

WHAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM:

I first applied some hydrocortizone (sparingly) morning and night (3-4 days) to clear things up. Once it cleared up, i would wet the area around my eyes and apply simple Vaseline intensive care lotion/moisturizer. It seemed to lock in the moisture and it kept the eczema from returning. I am finally free from eye eczema!

I now do this every morning and evening. Also if my eyes begin to water (sometimes my contact lenses causes this) I apply the water/vaseline intensive care treatment as well so that the skin does not dry up. After trying tons of things, this was my savior.

Good luck!

p.s if you do want to use cortizone but are worried about the effects- there is another creme u may speak to ur dermo/gp about which has no hydrocortisol in it - it is made of a sodium and acts the same as for example dermaid or sigma 0.1%
ive used this too.
its quite good.

ive had eczema around my eyes for about 2 years now, i suffer from it and have seen an excellent dermo in my town.
she was great.
the most important things:
1. invest in a medical < high intensive moisturising creme, which is more like a petrolium jelly-like consistency rather than creme
the one my dermo recommended was "qv intensive body moisturiser"- this is in the consistency of what i explained above. but is wide-known to be safest product available for this region
2. never use petrollium jelly, body moisturisers and so on around ur eye region - this is very bad and makes it worse after a while not just this but the oils in those are made for moisturising thicker skinned areas such as the body, and not the eyelids (the thinnest skin!) since these have such oils after some time you will experience some fatty/small lumps on your eye region - these are little fat deposits which resemble little pimples and take ages to go away.
3. be consistent - after showers, before bed, whenever you feel dry - put some on
4. note that weather change makes it worse - winter is the worst for me, summer the best

good luck and kind regards

Do not put cortisone on your face, especially around your eyes.
Very dangerous. I'm not saying I never use it, maybe once every 2 weeks, but not everyday - your body gets use to it, then you need to use it more often at a higher strength. Just use it when it gets unbearable.

If you don't agree with this let me know!

I have had eczema for years, my hands is usually the normal dry itchy exzema but in the last couple of years or so I have developed the red allergy-like redness punched in the face panda eyes that makes me look like the undead. I would put thick nivea moisturising cream on constantly as it would make it go away for about half an hour but would flare up again. I ended up going to the doctor and getting antibiotics for a bite, and it ended up clearing the redness right up. That was about 6 months ago. In the last month it has come back,so I went and asked the doc to try out more antibiotics to see if it would work, and it has, this along with normal hydrocort 1%

Hi
I have been suffering with red eyes for approx 6 months now. It started with a small redness itching on one eye and eventually spread to both eyes on the eye lid and all the way around. I went to the doctors a couple of weeks ago the nurse suggested an ointment for them. However i didnt get it. I have since had an allergy test with a lady who uses the muscle technique but due to the ever long list of what i cant eat im a little stuck. She suggested no milkand dairy/yeast/acidic fruits inc tomatoes and no coffee. I was considering a homeopath as a last resort but have never had this before. I have been using an aloe vera plant that is helping to sooth my eyes.
Any other suggestions please let me know its getting embarrasing and starting to feel down about it

After throwing my last prescribed eye cream in the overflowing 'Failed eye Moisturising Bin', i had a thought..'my eyes were never bad before, only since i've been putting all these creams, ointments, moisturising lotions and sprays on them, day in-day out, they have been red and raw'. Since i abandoned all this 'professional medical help', i continued with my 19 year routine of a good old fashion face wash, warm water,(NO FACEWASH OR FACE MOISTURISER NEAR MY EYES!) towel dry. No creams, no burning, no itching, no red eye circles. Now i only put moisturiser on my dry NON-RED skin!! :D Success!!

It’s such an unfortunate place to have eczema because it’s so noticeable. I’m currently 6 days into a flare up mainly affecting my right eye (mainly pinkness and flaking on the outer sides and a pink dry patch under). You do look like you’ve been punched or something. There was a period of a week last year where it flared up in a neat even ring around both eyes and it looked like I’d hadn’t slept in a week. I swear it pops up for no apparent reason and by putting ANYTHING on it you run the risk of making it worse.

I Get this this painful and itching eczema under my eye and on my right eyelids and the itching causes it redness. I hate it. It has deffinately been acting within the last 2 months and that's why i'm looking for a way to cure it. I don't feel confident anymore. I don't even want people to look at me in the eyes. I've tried just covering it up with makeup but it just shows up worse- not to mention it burns like hell..

my daughter is 4 years old and her eye problems started in december. Her eyes looked so bad like she had been crying for days. People would always ask why are her eyes so red... I thought it was our christmas tree so i threw that out and no change so i took her to an allergist and they diagnosed her with eczema. they gave her a cream called pramosone..... It has done wonders i put that on and i also put on a cream called california baby sold at target.... twice a day. She looks back to normal now. Hope it helps... and also if your not getting any results from the really greasy petroleum jelly's it may be that your skin is sensitive to petroleum because alot of people are....as per my doctor said!

My daughter is nine. This is the first year she has had eczema. It is on her upper body and around her eyes. She looks like she's been beaten.

Here is what we have tried with limited (very) success.
1. Uses only Dove unscented soap
2. Hydrocortisone on other affected areas besides the eyes.
3."Dry Skin Eye Gel" by Skin Shop
4. Wash her clothes and bedding in Dreft using NO fabric softener or only vinegar
5. Cetaphil moisterizer on other areas of skin

... Now just today, we are trying ABC (Arbonne Baby Care)...We'll see how that works.

We have had some success She was looking somewhat better, then she went swimming tonight for one hour, and she looks horrible. Does not seem to bother her, but it does me.

Ok so first i'll explain a little about my troubles with the over baring eczema i have.
The redness around my eyes flares up and it goes a little down my face,it looks like a red bruise as if i were punched.
One day it can be fine the other it can go terribly red and dry.I smother myself with moiusturiser but its as if my skin isnt soaking it in,its still as dry as ever.
My main problem is the redness what do i have to do to get rid of this? i have tried hyridcortisone eyedrops eye ointment eye baths eye soaking....you name it ive probably tried it.
Its embarassing i look a mess, all i want to do is get up put makeup on with no worries.

Any suggestions of food changes, supplements, creams etc would be HUGELY appreciated.
