Good make-up for facial eczema-
I find that MAC makes a great concealer called "Select moisture cover"
It's a great option because it is so blendable so you don't end up looking like cake. Great for under eyes and around mouth because it is moisturizing and give great coverage.
The other cover up I really like is by Lise Watier Color Wheel concealer. This concealer can be applied lightly or very heavy depending on what you need. It has never aggravated my facial eczema.

Just to add, I found mascaras worsened the eczema around my eyes. I didn't wear mascara for about 2 years because of this. Now there are quite a few good brands out there for sensitive skin like Suncoat. On the high street, Bourjois has a sensitive mascara which works really well without irritating my skin. I should stress that you should never, ever go to bed with any make-up on - this is guaranteed to worsen your eczema!

Hi Laura! I totally empathise. It's a nightmare trying to look good with eczema in your face. I get breakouts around my mouth and eyelids and have permanent purple rings around my eyes and it can also make me feel crappy.
I, like RR, usually find that make-up makes it worse - concealers, etc. can be disproportionately soaked up by the dry patches - just making it more obvious. In some ways, you're better just trying to make sure your skin is moisturised well so that it can heal.
I understand your frustration though because I sometimes say, 'to hell with it!' and do my best to try and cover it up! I like RR's suggestion of mixing foundation with your moisturiser - I'm going to give it a go! I find I get the best results by moisturising then applying a barrier lotion like Skin MD to get a smooth surface. The best foundation I've found is Clinique's Supermoisture which I use sparingly. I also use Benefit's erase paste (sparingly again) which get's rid of the purple under my eyes. Sorry I don't have any cheaper suggestions!

Hey Laura
I find make up just makes it worse. Use badger balm or palmers coco butter (the stuff in the round tub, not the squirty lotion) around your eyes. It does make a difference. If I am going out I use dior foundation mixed into my coco butter, its not the same, but it gives a bit of coverage and stops it drying up and flaking off. I did use bare essentials mineral make up for a while....it was good but if your skin gets flakey then its just guna get all caked up..... sorry I cant be more help.

Hi
I'm 27 and after having no eczema since i was a baby it is ow back in force. It's especially bad on my back and face. My back i can deal with as i can cover it up but my face is a different matter. It's especially bad around my eyes, they are permanently discoloured, either red or purple and they can get quite flaky. It's now spereading onto my forehead and down my cheeks (it used to be confined to the eye sockets) All the doctor can give me is hydrocortisone to use on my face and i'm allergic to ointments so i have to stick to cream.
Is there a good make up brand that will cover the patches up? I've tried a few but they just don't seem to cover up the marks, or they just flake off. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have never been so miserable as this is making me just now
thanks
