Hi,

There is a great book i recommend everybody should read if you suffer from any form of allergy including asthma. Its called Breathing Free by Teresa Hale - ISBN 0-340-72831 published by Hodder & Stoughton. My hayfever and asthma have improved vastly reducing the need for medication since i put their exercises in place.

Hi mo joi

It sounds like your daughter has an extremely rare condition. My daughter has severe allergies but mainly to some foods not pollen (thank goodness). I never believe there is nothing that can be done. You often find it's a case that the doctors you see just don't know the answers.

Doctor after doctor and hospitals treated my daughters allergic reactions and then turned me away and said there was nothing that could be done. No-one came up with a prevention to her condition, all they did was treat her reactions. I stumbled across a doctor who had won awards and had become an adviser on BBC Health as a result of his work in treating allergies, eczema, asthma. He is a genius. His name is Adrian Morris and he can be seen in London, at I believe Great Ormond Street Hospital and also in the Guilford Nuffield in Surrey. You would have to see him privately but I only had one appointment at £140, and my life has turned around. He really understands as he seems to have done more research than anyone I have met before. Also in some cases he can do a de-sensitisation programme to in some cases eliminate the allergy.

You can find him on google if you type in his name or under the 'Allergy Clinic'. Please give it a go. He was my last hope and it worked, now I will never look back.

Good luck!

Gina

Hi,
My seven year old daughter suffers with eczema and asthma. Her real big problem is she goes into anaphylactic shock with pollen .We have really struggled with this since she was two.No doctor seems to be able to help. She rarely goes outdoors and is kept in at school. The problem is getting greater the older she gets.We have been told she is the only person in the uk who is like this ,but we are trying to find anyone else with a child who has anything similar.HELP!!!!!!

Im 38 and only just got eczema in the past year, well im not sure if it was spots or eczema i have had in the past. But this time I could scratch my face off its so sore. I have moved to a house by the woods and the pollen comes off the silver birch trees must be aggrevating it. I guess hayfever will be next. The only thing that worked for me so far is getting into a sunny climate ie: spain. I felt so good then came back here and it flared up again. I think like other allergies regular hoovering and damp dusting may help to lessen it, so im going to try that - when i get the time of course!

Hi My daughter is 3 and a half years old and is having a very bad flare up at the moment i.e itching till she bleeds!! She suffers with asthma and i'm wondering if this flare up is anything to do with hayfever and grass pollen, has anyone else found this occurs with them and if so how do you deal with it? Thanks for listening.

Hello,
I'm almost 19 and I always heard that I would grow out of it by 18! Right now I'm home during school break. Here it seems that I have worse eczema, especially around my eyes and the back of my neck. Before it was so bad people thought I just had a huge sunburn on my face. At school my eczema is generally better, but I seem to have constant hay fever. It's like a trade-off; I personally prefer hay fever with okay skin. It's so good to know when I'm hurting and when it feels like no one could possibly understand what it's like to want to feel and look good so bad and yet to have no control over what happens with my skin that you're all out there going through the same thing. Hang in there! Let's really appreciate our good periods.
Micki

Hi Sarah,

I am suffering badly from Hayfever at the moment, the eczema on my face is very red and sore, but everywhere else it is not too bad...I never connected the 2, but you're certainly not alone!

Hi Blue
Thanks for your message - it's good to know that there are people out there who know exactly how you're feeling. I'm 28 years old and am fed up with still having eczema. When I was younger doctors used to say I would grow out of it but this has never seemed to happen yet! How old are you?

Love Sarah

Hi, does anyone suffer from hayfever and eczema? My eczema has started to get worse especially around my eyes and on my face - just like last year when it was really bad. I'm sure it's connected and round my eyes it's red, sore and very itchy. Plus, I am also having a break from cyclosporin due to the side effects and my eczema is starting to get worse quite quickly. I'm feeling down at the moment - just wish I had a 'normal' face and didn't have eczema. It felt brillant to have my eczema under conrol using cylosporin but wish I could use it long term without having any side effects! If anyone has tips or advice please email me - sarahpeace3@hotmail.com

Thanks, take care everyone
Sarah
